Whether it’s our bed, room, house, or city - space is all around us.

But what design or mental values make a space good? What makes it bad? During the reading, the feeling of wandering in space passes, while changing the viewer's point of view according to the shifts in the texts and images in the book.

The book's cover is minimalist, revealing its spine to emphasize its structure.

Following parts from Georges Perec book “Species of Spaces”, I started to explore what kind of spaces are around us and what’s their purpose in our life.

The artwork of the artist Kazimir Malevich is shown at the start of the book, helping to put the readers in the mood and introducing the black square, a symbol that will follow their reading and help them navigate through the book. I integrated sections from an article about architect Ricardo Bofill’s lifestyle and perception of space, adding alongside that parts of Jane Jacob’s book “The Death and Life of Great American Cities”, where she deals with the question of whether or not a successful urban space is. Le Corbusier “Modulor” emerges as well, with his formula for the ultimate living space.
